In the next installment of Labyrinths and Rings Gemma Tweedie will present aspects of her past work and show a very short new video work at XL art space and Carmen W. Wong will discuss her project ‘TACTILE DINNER’.Gemma Tweedie combines video-performance and project-based work along with text and photography in her visual arts practice. Past work has engaged with our attempts at common understanding and explored intersecting roles of instruction, suggestion and participation. www.gemmatweedie.blogspot.comCarmen C. Wong is the artistic director of DC-based banished? productions, an avant-pop collective that produces playful immersive art performances. She is currently visiting Helsinki and Europe on a Theatre Communications Group Global Connections Program travel grant. Her research includes producing a culturally-relevant version of the Futurist-inspired “TACTILE DINNER”, a hybrid food-in-performance project that aims to inject thoughtful play into the act of eating and re-frame the meaning of consumption.
